The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida, a nonprofit group based in Doral, will host a one-day conference on Saturday to inform the community and share personal stories from people living with the neurological condition.
At the Epilepsy Pipeline Community Conference, healthcare experts, people living with seizures and their advocates will share new approaches and therapies for treating epilepsy, the third most common neurological condition in the nation. An estimated three million people in America, including about 375,000 in Florida, live with epilepsy, according to the foundation.
Among the topics to be discussed are rare epilepsy occurences, new seizure medications, cutting-edge surgical therapies, innovative technologies and family relationships.
The conference takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Turnberry Isle Miami Resort, 19999 West Country Club Drive in Aventura. Admission is free with registration at http://bit.ly/2015EpilepsyPipeline
