The Epilepsy Foundation of Florida is gearing up for its annual Walk the Talk for Epilepsy.
Taking place at John Prince Memorial Park April 30, registration begins at 8 a.m. The walk follows at 9 a.m. The morning will also feature family friendly entertainment for children and adults.
“We expect hundreds of families to lace up their sneakers and enjoy the many activities on hand while also raising much needed funding to serve those affected by epilepsy in the area,” said Karen Basha Egozi, CEO of the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida.
The Palm Beach event is one of eight Walk the Talk for Epilepsy walks taking place throughout the state. These events benefit the more than 400,000 Floridians living with epilepsy, which is a common neurological condition that 1 in 26 people will be diagnosed with at some point in their lives. The diagnosis is given when a person experiences two or more seizures that cannot be attributed to another cause. It is a disorder more people live with than autism, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy – combined.
Sponsors include Sunovion Pharmaceutical, LivaNova Pharmaceutical, Lundbeck Pharmaceutical, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Wal-Mart, Palm Beach Neuroscience Institute, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic and NeuroPace.
Through April 27, tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children. After, prices are $35 for adults and $20 for children.
